Follow the trail of the mysterious key to Hernand Castle and enter the Abyss. Meet Alustin the Alchemist, solve Axiom Force puzzles, and gain the power of Flight from the Woman in White.

Steps

Examine the Engraved Key: Open your Inventory and select the engraved key, then Inspect it using Space on keyboard or Square/X on controller.
Go to Hernand Castle: Head to Hernand Castle in the city, and speak to the guards for them to let you through.
Find the Room the Key Opens: The alchemist's chamber room is located on the second floor of the castle. From the main castle entrance, immediately turn right and go up the stairs.
Go Through the Shining Gate: Once in the room, the shining gate portal to the Abyss will automatically open. There is also chest loot in the room, so pick it up before entering.
Activate the Abyss Nexus: Now in the Abyss, step on the pressure platform right in front of you to activate the Abyss Nexus, which are fast travel points around Pywel.
Go Toward the Building: Follow the path straight ahead to get to the white building's entrance.
Find a Way Into the Building: After walking up to the front, you will be granted the Axiom Force power. Use this to grab and rotate the circles on your right to pass the energy through, unlocking the door.
Enter the Building: Head inside and speak to Alustin the Alchemist. After the cutscene, he teleports you to the skybridge gate.
Go through the Skybridge Gate: At the gate, head forward and attach the Axiom Force on the pillar in front of you, on the circle. Rotate using the Dpad or W/D keys to spin the circle until an audio cue plays and the orb flashes bright.
Activate the Abyss Nexus: At the end of the skybridge path, activate the Abyss Nexus.
Remove the Wall Blocking the Floor: Past the Nexus and into the next area, use the Axiom Force to grab one floating cube in the middle and bring it to the box in front to remove the invisible wall.
Synthesize the Abyss Cell: Jump down and bring the diamond-shaped object to the power outlet on the right wall.
Activate the Abyss Power Supply: Up ahead is a large 8-point wheel that is the power supply. Hang on the middle of the powered device and use Force Palm to activate the power.
Take the Abyss Artifact: Climb the stairs and approach the Abyss Artifact pillar, the black cube sitting atop the large pillar.
Speak to the Woman in White: You will meet the Woman in White automatically during the cutscene, and she grants you the power of Flight.
Return to Hernand: Right after the scene, Kliff jumps off the Abyss back down to the world. Use your new flight ability to steadily land back in Hernand.
