Walkthrough
- 1Unlock the Golden Vanguard 2-handed spear or keep current weapon
- 2Travel to Demeniss eastern tower where Bastier is located
- 3Enter tower and initiate boss fight with Lucian Bastier
- 4Phase 1: Block his heavy mace attacks, dodge sideways in large circles
- 5Wait for combo chains to end before attacking from behind
- 6Use dodge technique — avoid backward dodges, move in wide circles around boss
- 7Phase 2: Bastier transforms into monster form and constantly teleports
- 8Dodge demon summons until they vanish — they cannot be damaged
- 9Attack Bastier during brief stationary moments between teleports
- 10Defeat both phases to complete Chapter 8 and earn armor pieces
Tips
- Upgrade Diamane's starting armor by 1-2 levels before the fight
- Golden Vanguard 2-handed spear is superior for reach and guard-breaking
- Dodge in wide circles — never dodge backward as it leaves you exposed
- Boss constantly blocks frontally in Phase 1 — sidestep and strike from sides/behind
- Phase 2 is significantly harder — expect lengthy fight that tests patience
- Shadow demons summoned in Phase 2 cannot be damaged — focus on dodging
- Bring 100+ Grilled Meat for healing — this fight is long and demanding
- After defeat, Chapter 8 ends and you return as Kliff
